Hipster Pizzeria “Get your pizza before it’s cool”

The hipster/scenester… er… um… scene, is an interesting one to me. This subculture prides themselves for their originality but when you take a step back and look at the group as a whole, the originality seems to fade away in a blur of neon colors and cloud of cigarette smoke (undoubtedly coming from bummed American Spirits).

So I wanted to make a poster that was original, using all these little bits and pieces from a subculture that is no longer so original.

Pizzas are delivered by genuine college grads, who either majored in film or photography, on a fixed gear bike and the pizzeria also offers coffee because all the employees were baristas at some point in their lives.

Owls have been all the rage these past couple of years. I’m not above jumping on a bandwagon.

Yippee-Ki-yay!!! This print was originally submitted to Threadless in an attempt to win one of their design competitions. Sadly it never made it into production.

Oh well, perhaps it can be tweaked and released as The Atomic Rocket’s first wall print.
